Hi does anyone know how refit external plastic door panel at bottom loose after getting stuck on grass to crossland x

Hi does anyone have information about replacing button on crossland x part has snapped but handbrake can still be used have contacted local vauxhall dealers and they have said would be 415 pounds to replace and could not say if the new one would be plastic or metal and if plastic will this happen again?
