    ignition fault

    busdriver posted a topic in New Members Introductions
    i have a 2000 mk4 astrta 1.6 club the problem i have is that went i put the ignition key in and turn the key i get the first click so that the ignition lights come on but when i turn the key to start the engine i have nothing no click i phone a garage up and they have told me that i needed to replace the whole ignition setup including the ecu but i phoned the vauxhall dealers near where i live and they have told me no i can change the ignition barrel only what i want to find out is how do i get the ignition barrel out of the car i have taken of the cowling and have remove the control arms out of the way i was told that there is a grubber screw somewhere but have been unable to locate that so please can anyone get me some advice thank you
