power socket not working

The front 12v Power socket on my 2005 (05) Vectra SRI has stopped working. I have checked the fuse (location 22); it was ok, but I replaced with a new one anyway (30A green). Anyone have any ideas what may be the problem?

Manual states that Fuse 22 is the "cigarette lighter" - if the cigarette lighter isn't fitted, is the power socket supplied by a different fuse?

I haven't removed the socket yet to check a wire hasn't come adift (is that an easy job?)

I'm sure it isn't related, but on the day it stopped working I replaced the headlamp & parking light bulbs and cleaned the windscreen washer bottle filter.

:-(

Thanks

Paul

Thanks Steve

Yes, use it a lot for an iPod and/or mobile phone charging. Can use the rear socket, but it's a bit inconvenient so guess i will have to try and remove the unit and check it out (which doesn't sound like a simple job)
