Apologies if this has been discussed before. I have a 54 plate 1.6 Zafira manual. Has anyone experienced a judder when pulling away in 1st gear? The clutch bite is good and runs really smooth when the clutch is fully up and driving in any gear, but in 1st gear when pulling away normally (not rushing or trying to speed off at the lights) there is a horrible judder/hop, which disappears once the clutch is fully released and pulling along. Difficult to explain but the best way to control it is constantly adjust the biting point and throttle, when you pull away applying approx 1500 rpm it starts to judder. Dip the clutch slightly, apply a bit more gas and balance the biting point is the best way to juggle a smooth pull away. It happens almost all the time but I would say a bit worse after an hour or so of driving and only does it in 1st gear when pulling away. Especially bad when doing a hill start. I was wondering if it may be a slave cylinder, or the flywheel needs balancing, or even a worn engine mount?? But is this a common problem in this underpowered model? I previously had an 05 plate with the same engine and manual also, I recall it never being easy and smooth on pulling away. Maybe I've just had bad luck! Any ideas would be much appreciated. Cheers.

We live inside the ULEZ that’s inside the M25 and my Insignia is NOT compliant so only use it for towing my boat a few times a year paying £12:50 per day. I have never had any problems with the towbar or electrics and the car battery still holds its charge. Hopefully on 2nd May Mr Khan will be voted out and Susan Hall will be Mayor of London and she will BAN THE ULEZ on day one. We can then drive the Insignia as usual. Please all vote for SUSAN HALL to be mayor of London. Cheers Dave

Thanks John, I had seen something mentioned about the throttle position, but brushed it off as I assumed if that was the issue, it would have the same symptoms at every position. However, I think I'll delve deeper into it and see what I can see. Hope I come back with some good news.

Hi Everyone, Just after some advice on my Insignia Grand Sport 1.6 Diesel, I keep getting the Engine code P0401 EGR Flow Insufficient - I do a lot of motorway miles and tried everything from driving in high revs to spraying egr cleaner as advised by the tin. If I clear the code it won't come back on for a while and then it will. Only thing I haven't tried is removing the EGR Valve and pipes giving it a good scrub, would this work or am I wasting my time and its goosed, needing replacing. Thanks in advance for advice.

Hi everybody, just wonder if anyone knows how the metal pipe on the picture is called. I’ve been told by garage that it’s an EGR pipe (55562835) but obviously it’s not. As that one is for 2.0l and has a very different shape.

I haves 2017 Vauxhall insignia the rear footwell behind the driver’s seat is wet through check all seals which seam ok rest it the car is dry just the footwell behind the drivers seat looking for any suggestions thanks

Worth checking; I had a Fiat that did the same thing, Long story short it was traced by an auto-electrician to the throttle potentiometer. As you open the throttle the central contact slides along. This differential tells the CPU where the throttle is. In my case it was a broken wire which required some healthy bodge work. BIL had the same issue with his Citroen so you never know HTH.

Hi I have had the same problem I own a 68 insignia turbo diesel and I 2020 plate corsa nav premium I have had corsa in garage it came back with no fault code the insignia as so far had new oil pump, nox sensor 1 &2 , chain belts inside engine all changed and still having problems purchased oil from Vauxhall dealer with new filter was coming up with service when already been done

Hi everyone, this has been driving me up the wall. Symptoms - Pulsing during acceleration, usually around 2k rpm. As far as i can tell my fuel consumption hasn't changed. NO faults codes at all. No other issues during driving. Doesn't stutter or anything like that Fixes I've tried - Changed fuel filter. cleaned EGR. Added diesel clean at almost every refuel. Air filter fine. Boost pipe fine (changed it a years or so ago and took it off again to check) Any guidance would be very much appreciated. I am at a total loss.

Hi there, for the last month or so, I can hear the sound of water moving around somewhere to the left of the driver side / front passenger doorway / gear stick area. I’ve had a mechanic look at it and he didn’t see any problems but it’s bugging the life out of. Has anyone else had this problem? Thank you Sarah x

2003 1.8 16v vectra gets up to temperature but if driving the temperature drops to the very bottom of the gauge. I am just wondering why this is and what will fix the problem. Even if the car has been driven for an hour there is no hot air coming through the vents if I turn them on.

Did you have any issues since installing?

I have a friend who got a broken cam belt on his 2003 1.6 8v Astra and I wondered if this is lightly to have bent the valves

Hi I have the same problem with my 18 plate Crossland x and owned as a pre reg car from new. My mileage was about 36500 when it started doing same as yours also goes into snail mode, you pull over turn off for a minuet or so and you set off again. At first had oil change but dint solve. Had to take to Vauxhall (pentagon) for diagnostic. They confirmed timing belt and Vauxhall are doing under warranty but i had too jump through hoops for Vauxhall to confirm they paying for it. I had to prove all services where done properly by providing copies of invoices for services done they looking to make sure correct parts and correct grade of oil was used. apparently timing belt is 6 years or 60k i think they said. So check with Vauxhall. However my car went in 19 Feb was supposed to be a 3 day job but is still in there apparently waiting for part to do with Driveshaft so they say. I did originally get a courtesy car which i was supposed to be paying towards insurance so they said. They have waved all cost for courtesy car now which i still have.

Any reviews on race chip performance increases if any?

I have a vectra c with z22yh engine, beleive it or not I am having some fuel issues. White smoke, strong smell of fuel, mis firing and undrivable but it occasionally clears and runs fine. I beleive I should have a constant voltage to the injectors and the othe side switched to ground. If I'm right, my first question is what voltage should I have? secondly should this be ignition on or engine running or both. And finaly to clarify this is to battery negative?

Was looking for advice before taking car ro garage. Recently my heating won't blow out hot or cold air I have set to max and nothing comes out I have went into the menu and also set it to max this way still nothing and also nothing when I put on a/c does anyone know why this is? Thanks
