  6. great news and good diagnosis of the real fault - always usually something simple but difficult to find
  7. Finally managed to get my dash working again. I found a reset method which has cured the problem. It's called disconnection of the battery for 15 minutes. I decided to remove the after market wiring for the electric fan, and whilst doing this I needed to disconnect the live terminal. And once I had done, and all was back together. The dash was working again, and has been ever since. And I am no longer getting a static shock every time I get out of the car. Which is a win win in my book.
  8. Wonder if its a simple fault to resolve to get the roof working again? If not then maybe look through fuses or find the chime generator and disconnect that
  9. Does your scantool have reset battery function - to register new battery voltage in the ECU?
  10. Oh dear (about the speedo) but great news about the MOT test

  16. Hi everyone, I’ve just joined this group and was hoping someone might be able to offer some advice or share any similar experiences. I’ve got a 2019 Vauxhall Crossland X 1.2 petrol (non-turbo) on PCP, which I’ve had for about 16 months. The car has done 30,779 miles. About a month ago, I noticed the car was losing power when trying to accelerate — it felt sluggish and wasn’t responding properly. I took it in for checks, and it turned out there was a misfire on cylinder 2. Upon further inspection, the mechanic found that the tip of the spark plug — the ceramic part — had broken off and fallen into the cylinder. A compression test showed only 67 PSI on cylinder 2, indicating internal engine damage. I’m now facing a potentially huge repair bill, despite the car being relatively new and still under finance. Has anyone else had a similar issue with their Crossland X, particularly with spark plugs or engine misfires? Also, does anyone know if there’s a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) or known issue relating to this? Any advice or shared experience would be really appreciated. I’m currently trying to gather evidence and figure out the best way to approach this with Vauxhall and the finance company. Thanks in advance!
  17. Hi. Does anybody know if rear coilspring fractures are a common issue with early Meriva B? Seem to be a lot of these coming up in mot histories on cars ive looked at. If so, anybody know if there are better quality springs available from someone other thanVauxhall? Cheers. Paul.
  18. Hi all! My 2010 meriva b in pepperdust paint just blew the head gasket after the valve to the header tank and heater mAtrix fell apart. Plastic parts in a hot water system. Brilliant. Repairable with a head skim and gasket pack but I havent got time to do that. Anyway, the car is now sat outside my Dad's place in Horsham, West Sussex, and needs to be gone asap. It has 110,000 on the clock, 4no. 5~spoke alloys which I was going to refurbish, and minor impact/scrape damage to the n/s/f bumper from previous owner, which has very slightly distorted the front edge of the wing where it meets the bumper. Ir also has a few little trolley dings typical in a car of this age. Has a/c which works fine but otherwise basic spec. I think its the Excite, but i bought it in a hurry after a 6 month tt99 ban and only had it a week before it blew up. Comes with all relevant paperwork including stamped fsh, along with the original key and a new one just bought and programmed at a cost of over £300! Anyway, if anybody wants to make me a sensible offer, and can collect within a week (you'll need a trailer or tow), it's worth a fair bit for the turbo, exhaust, ECU, doors, bonnet, tailgate, gearbox, windscreen, interior etc. Local scrapper has offered me £300,so anything more than that would be acceptable! Id break it myself but nowhere to do it. Meanwhile, just bought another one as i really liked the car. Mug maybe? We shall see. Please email me on pja666@gmail.com as im a truck driver and can't answer phones most of the time, although can probably pick up messages here I imagine.... Thanks for looking. Paul.
  19. Genuine Vauxhall branded parts in excellent condition still in original box. Aerodynamically shaped aluminium for quick and easy plug-in of all roof attachment systems. Easy to install. They come complete with instruction manual and keys. They have only been used on the vehicle a couple of times, then removed, and stored in original box when not in use. There are a few superficial marks on the black ends of the bars. The rubber strips are un-used, in mint condition. £95.00 plus postage.
  20. There are many owners with this problem posting on the Vauxhall Mokka owners forum under the topic 'peeling paint'. Wrote a physical letter to Vauxhall CEO Florian Huettl (phoning is no good - 'Customer Care' just says there's nothing they can do after 6 years). We received a reply saying to take it to a dealer and get them to send in a report. Service manager at County Motors in Chelmsford was horrified at the state of the paint but doubtful if manufacturers will accept responsibility. We will see what comes back.
  21. Dear all, I broke this connector when removing the Coil Pack. What is the name for this type of connector, please, and how easy is it to replace? Thank you
  22. I recently bought a Meriva (2013) and it had an issue with the immobiliser yesterday. I had driven a short distance and it wouldn’t restart. Jump start etc not effective. Eventually discovered that disconnecting the battery reset the immobiliser and the car started immediately. I have since googled and apparently this is a known fault! Has anyone come across this and if so what do I do to prevent it recurring? The car battery is low quality and may need replaced. Is that likely to help? I have replaced the battery in the fob (although the previous one was still working ) thanks
  23. Yes i see this
  24. Hi, Does anyone know if the front brake calipers on a 98 2.5 petrol V6 are the same as any other Vauxhall model (or even another make)? Very few second hand and new ones are more than twice the price of a pair for my 2007 Volvo V70!!! Thank you, Ian

  26. On the B20DTH engine the camshaft chain and tensioner was severely worn. On replacement I timed the camshafts to the dots and marked the camshaft sprocket (belt end). Whilst trying to undo the cam chain sprocket bolt (whilst holding the nut shaped flat on the cam) the bolt didn't undo, but the camshaft moved and the spanner holding the nut shaped flats didn't. All marks still line up again. Is this an issue? Would timing be affected. I was under the impression the camshaft was one piece and this couldn't happen.
